Hey everyone! It’s that time of year again. The Pipe Users Group of Northern California (NorCal PUG) is calling for papers for our 2022 VIRTUAL Sharing Technologies Seminar to be held on Thursday, February 17th, 2022. With the uncertainties around COVID-19 still lingering, we have yet to determine if the event will be virtual or in-person. In either case, similar to last year, we are planning to have a single full-day event and our goal, as always, is to make this a participant-forward program with as much audience interaction as possible.

Please submit an abstract and help us learn and teach each other by sharing your pipeline project experience.

Abstracts can be submitted using this Google Form link. The deadline for abstract submission is 5:00pm on October 29, 2021.

Please join us for our virtual September Meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021, for a presentation by Brogan Quist with Smart Cover Systems titled “Smart Cover Systems.”  

This presentation will provide a review of how customers can adopt unique and patented monitoring technology, which gives them data in the field that they did not have before. This specific presentation will review a few different case studies and applications, such as: SSO prevention, “SmartCleaning” programs, H2S monitoring, Lift Station Backup, Inflow and Infiltration tracking, and others.

Please join us for our virtual August Meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021, for a presentation by Mike Scholz with JMC Industries titled “Mechanical Fittings and Repairs on High Density Polyethylene Pipe (HDPE).”  

The presentation will provide an overview of the working characteristics of HDPE pipe, the design considerations and installation techniques of products recommended for the repair, connection and branching, and discuss examples of completed projects.
