July Meeting – In Person at Brown and Caldwell!

Hello PUG Members,

Our July monthly meeting will be held in-person, at the Brown and Caldwell office in Walnut Creek! The address is 201 N Civic Dr Suite 300, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, and we will begin at 11:00 a.m. on July 11th, 2023. Take the South Lobby elevator to the 3rd floor.

The presentation will be provided by Dave Veilleux from CivilGrid and is titled, “What’s Underground? CivilGrid – A Must Have for Project Planning, Data Aggregation and Avoiding Dig-Ins”. The presentation will review how understanding and adapting to the changing landscape of utilities underground using GIS is a must during pre-construction and initial engineering design.  The presentation will focus on the need for engineering companies to identify utilities early, site and plan their projects efficiently, and make sense of the ever expanding and disparate repository of “digital twins” available. CivilGrid is a one-stop shop that provides engineers, project planners, construction managers, and data acquisition staff with the latest in utility data and tools to site and plan projects. With CivilGrid, data acquisition time can be cut by up to 90% and the environmental, land use, zoning, geotechnical, and hydrology information provided allows engineers to start a project design in CAD with just a few clicks.
